Functional Safety Engineer

For the Welzheim location, we are currently looking for a Functional Safety Engineer

Your Responsibilities

• Development and design of software architectures for embedded systems using AUTOSAR and following ARC42 standards

• Implementation of safety-critical software functions according to ISO 26262 in the automotive and industrial context

• Analysis, definition, and management of requirements within the Requirements Engineering

• Model-based development and simulation of functions using MATLAB/Simulink

• Implementation of diagnostic concepts and conducting system and software diagnostics

• Creation and evaluation of FMEA in the software and systems domain

• Development of software modules in Embedded C/C++ for powerful control units

• Collaboration in the design and evaluation of electronic control and power systems (Power Electronics)

• Interdisciplinary collaboration with hardware, safety, and system engineering teams

Your Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar technical disciplines

• Solid experience in at least one of the areas: Automotive, Industrial, Safety, or Off-Highway

• In-depth knowledge of software architecture, preferably with AUTOSAR and ARC42

• Experience with safety-critical development processes according to ISO 26262

• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development

• Good knowledge of Embedded C/C++, diagnostics, and FMEA methods

• Understanding of power electronics and embedded systems

• Structured and analytical approach, teamwork skills, and strong technical understanding

• Effective communication in German and English
